The PAF Pro® was created at a time when you started playing chop-intensive, and high-gain amplifiers and rack systems became popular. A pickup was needed that combines plenty of presence and "cut" with an open-sounding PAF® vibe. Thanks to the transparency of its sound, the PAF Pro® can also go through heavy edits where darker sounding pickups sink in the mud of the effect chain. Deep tones have both snap and chunk, and there is a tip in the middle area that gives the pickup a subtle "aw" vocal sound, like a wah wah pedal stopped in the middle. The height response has been optimised so that the heights stand out without becoming brittle. The PAF Pro® is an excellent neck pickup for almost all guitars and an exceptional bridge pickup when high output is not required.
